![]() ![]() I wasnt overly impressed with this ride, but it was still pretty entertaining. Still, I give Six Flags credit for having an attraction like this in their park. Again, this is merely speculation, but I did feel like more effects were needed, rather than simply hearing Houdinis voice as the room rotated. There was a desk with a large mirror on one end that looked like it should have moved back and forth along the walk. Now, Ive only ever ridden this once, so Im not really sure what was supposed to happen, but it seems to me that the center walkway was supposed to be utilized more than it was. I didnt think it was as disorienting or nauseating as some others have mentioned, but rather found the whole thing to be just plain unique. During the presentation, the entire room is made to feel as though its spinning and flipping in complete arcs. It essentially consisted of rows of seats, facing each other, on opposite sides of a central walkway. The actual "ride" portion of the attraction then followed. It was actually quite reminiscent of Disneys Haunted Mansion preshow. First I want to mention the preshow room, which was impressively themed and detailed. I would rank it higher than an 8, except that I believe some of the special effects were not working properly in the main presentation room. ( ) We're getting a little bit off-topic here.I think Houdini was actually a very good attraction, and unusually elaborate for a Six Flags park. Then you could take a flight from Hannover to London with Ryanair or something.īTW, feel free to e-mail me for more questions and I'll be happy to answer them. Maybe you should do a little tour starting at Mickey's place -), to Astérix, then Bellewaerde, Bobbejaanland and then Six Flags Holland. I still don't get the ending of the ride. Very good theme actually, but not worked out very well. He is the one who then turns the house upside down and such. You can't see the ghost, but you can see where he is (some effects). When the monkey he tries to escape (out of the house), he rubs the lamp and a ghost comes out. There's a young guy and his monkey, who stole a magic lamp of some weird wizzard. It's a blurry story, but basically the ride goes as follows: "Zan-Zar's Magic Chamber" is the name of the madhouse at Six Flags Belgium. Today, children from the big cities don't even know what a cow is for example and such interactive and educating "attractions" are a great addition to any park. The other parks are all different too, but I liked the fact that Drayton, Chessington and Thorpe all have a zoo/farm too. I was impressed by the size of Alton Towers and the theme of their hotel (yes, I stayed at the Alton Towers Hotel for a night) I also visited Chessington, Alton Towers, Drayton Manor and Blackpool. Great place to stay for a while and have a hotdog or something. I like the boats too, the ones that transport you to the Thorpe Farm. ![]() The entrance is cool, it's like you're going onto an island. How did you find the UK? Did you like Thorpe Park? That's my local park. I did Movie World a few months ago, and want to do Port Aventura before the season ends. I keep wanting to go on trips to Europe, but with the ECC they're all a bit pricey at the moment, so I'm trying to do my own trips. I will make sure that I visit both Bellewaerde and Bobbejaanland next season. I haven't done Merlin (they were still building it when I visited), and wanted to do the one at Six Flags Belgium, but it was sadly closed. I like some of the effects on Hotel Embarjo at Movie World (there's an animatronic and a great effect right at the start), but it has no music and is very bare other than that. The room is very well themed, and the effects (especailly when 'upside-down') are excellent. Have you done Villa Volta? The room on this one is beautiful. Regarding Houdini, I agree that the room is very bare. ![]() I will make sure I visit those - will have to get the map out and see how I can best do a European tour. ![]()
